KAMELION PIGMENTS A-PATCH-EE ERA POLYMERS

KAMELION pigments

KAMELION pigment is dispersed in a compatible carrier for the epoxy and polyurethane elastomer and polyurethane foam industries. The paste form allows the pigment, as opposed to powder, to easily disperse in liquid polymers that are hand mixed or machine dispensed reducing pigment contamination and wastage.

This pigment paste is packed in unique pre-weighed plastic cylindrical tubes that allows easy dispensing with the use of a caulking gun to enable accurate dispensing, eliminate contamination and reduces wastage and allows ease of disposal.

Our pigments are supplied in the standard colour range across the colour spectrum to specially formulated colours to suit your personal choice.

In addition, we are able to supply in various other formats such as powders, various paste viscosities and as a master batch which can be used in the plastics, rubber, epoxy and polyurethane industries from open mill mixing, injection moulding and liquid casting techniques. We can also supply in bulk from 1kg plastic jars to 200-drums.

The Advantages of the Kamelion Pigment Cylinders:

• Pigment contamination is reduced

• Wastage is reduced

• Easy disposal

The Kamelion Pigment Cylinder Properties

• The pigment paste is packed into a tube approximately 215mm long, 45mm diameter

• The tube is then sealed with a plug to ensure no leaking or contamination

   takes place.
• There is between 250 grams to 300 grams of pigment paste per tube.
• Tubes are supplied a minimum of 15 per box . (5kg per box)

• The pigment powder is dispersed in a compatible carrier to suit the resin.

Kamelion Logo

Once the KAMELION pigment is mixed into a polymer or resin, and the mixed product is fully cured according to manufacturer’s recommended processing guides and parameters, KAMELION pigment poses no hazard whatsoever.

We also supply pigments in powders, pastes and master batch, which can be used in the plastics, rubber, epoxy, polyester and polyurethane industries.

A-PATCH-EE ®

A-PATCH-EE® is a liquid thixotropic urethane elastomer that is readily processable in a unique pre-weighed pouch in the correct ratio to enable hand mixing techniques without the need for scales, specialist equipment or skilled training.

When mixed and applied correctly, the A-PATCH-EE® is ideal for the repair of conveyor belts and yields a Shore hardness of 83 – 90 Shore A.

The A-PATCH-EE® grade is also ideally suited to repair polyurethane and rubber wear parts.

A-PATCH-EE® is a easy 3 step product which allows on-site repairs to a number of polyurethane products.

APPLICATIONS of A-PATCH-EE®:

• Conveyor belt repair

• Repair of damaged polyurethane pick-up linings

• The repair of damaged polyurethane mining wear parts such as rotors, screens

  and impellers.

• Waterproofing

• Trailer and mudguard patching work

• Repair of certain mining wear parts such as rotors, screens and impellers

• Manufacturing of moulds to replace expensive silicone moulds by casting over

  required design

• Gluing down and repair of rubber crumb mats and rubber crumb tile applications

The Advantages:

• Good toughness and outstanding abrasion resistance

• Long shelf life of 12 months when stored in a cool dry environment in an unopened

   protective pouch

• Excellent low temperature flexibility

• Good ageing resistance to heat, humidity, many chemicals and good loading

   characteristics.

• Low viscosity and easy processing characteristics.

• Excellent for water proofing and filling large gaps where water may permeate through

• Applied on site without any special equipment requirements

• Flame retardant

• No training required

• Pack sizes from 150gm to 1kg per pouch

The A-PATCH-EE® Properties

• The A-PATCH-EE® is dispensed into a clear pouch at the factory, which in turn is

packed in a special protective aluminium foil

• Pouch sizes vary from 150gms up to a maximum of 900gm available.
• The special clear pouch is divided in the middle in order to keep the two chemicals

apart until one is ready to mix the components in the pouch

• When fully cured, the A-PATCH-EE® product is a tough, high resilient elastomer.

Processing Time

When the aluminium pouch has been cut, and the clear pouch removed, there is no chemical reaction between the two chemicals until the divider is removed or ruptured, and the two chemicals are blended together manually by hand.

• After 4 minutes, A-PATCH-EE® becomes a viscous, thixotropic ‘butter-like’ consistency that can be applied on vertical surfaces or be moulded to any desired configuration or thickness. This is achieved by using a spatula to form the desired shape and contour.

• Once finished applying A-PATCH-EE®, allow to cure. A-PATCH-EE® should be touch-dry within the 40 minutes. Can be used in service after 6 hours, depending on temperature conditions.

• Optimum physicals achieved after two days. The hotter the climate, the better and quicker optimum physicals are achieved.
